Oak Manor House

Here, surrounded by vineyards renowned for producing some of South Africa’s most iconic Bordeaux-style reds, are three new places to stay: there are two modern villas and the recently refurbished five-bedroom historic manor house, dating to 1838. Surrounded by endless lawn (loved by kids) and with magnificent mountain views from the wide stoep shaded by stately oak trees, the manor house is at the heart of this working wine farm and just a short walk from the modern cellar.

Views Forever

Olive Garden Villa

X-Factor: Hidden in the cleft of a valley between the vineyards, the sun-filled Olive Garden Villa is, by contrast, a contemporary country escape with a central hearth for winter warmth. It has superb views of the Helderberg peaks over the olive trees and pool. It’s also close to the five bedroomed Manor House and so its an ideal weekend escape for four or you can book both for friends. Most families love the fact that this is a fully working farm. Butler service and breakfast included too!

Le Grand Jardin

X-Factor: Summer roses bloom abundantly here, and shafts of late afternoon sunlight create magic in this garden that's full of surprises at every turn. The country air is always gloriously redolent with the comforting smell of woodsmoke, and life here is celebrated fully. The decor is one-of-a-kind, an artwork in itself: from the handpainted wallpaper by African Sketchbook to the magnificent handcrafted copper wall leading in the plush velvet lounge, and the characterful pub with its literary quotes embossed on the leather walls. An old-world garden awaits with its delightful carousel, gypsy caravan and glasshouse – heaven for kids who'll no doubt want to stay here while you explore the town and its galleries!
