'There is a unique energy in and around Cape Town that pulled us in: we love the melting pot of cultures, the diversity of people here and proximity to nature.’

Villa Rose
Explore this stay

An inner-city oasis with serious art and design cred, this fully-restored, turn-of-the-century cottage (with its own private garden, pool and pizza oven) is a must for anyone who loves the old-world charm of a heritage home but still wants to be just a few minutes from Cape Town’s vibrant social scene

The Lowdown

Rosie has art in its bones; the former home of a Cape Town gallerist now belongs to furniture designers from Paris and Stockholm. Like many heritage homes, spaces are generous, ceilings are high and, thanks to the owners’ keen eye for design, the interiors are appointed in standout furniture pieces

Sleeping Arrangements

Rosie sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 spacious bedrooms—think time-worn wooden floors and light-filled spaces. The master bedroom has an en suite while the other 2 rooms (1 with its own fireplace) share an adjacent bathroom

What To Expect

Entertaining is a breeze, thanks to the fully equipped kitchen and large dining room. Outside, enjoy a private garden complete with a pizza oven, alfresco kitchen, pool, and outdoor shower under the strelitzia palms. As evening falls, light up the BBQ and take in the sunset views of Devil’s Peak from the veranda

The Art House Difference

Sourced from Paris flea markets and Cape Town galleries, the home’s art collection is as eclectic as it is inspired. Throughout the space, you’ll find a mix of family heirlooms and works by prominent artists, such as Walter Batiss and Tomos, and photographers, from Obie Oberholzer to St John Fuller. Spot custom furniture pieces—from the coffee and console tables to statement chairs in rattan and raw timber—from the owners’ locally produced brand, Bomo Interiors
