Beyond the natural beauty all around, the most awe-inspiring aspect is the organic architecture, designed to imitate the boundless landscape
Explore this stay

With its unmistakable, organic architecture, this exclusive-use villa rises out of the landscape like a larger-than-life termite mound, its terracotta-toned turrets surveying the sprawling 275-hectare wildlife reserve that surrounds it (including a two-kilometre stretch of private beach). Esther is a wilderness escape like no other.

The Lowdown

Located on the Eastern Cape’s Sunshine Coast, a rugged, malaria-free region perfectly suited for bushveld walks, dips in the warm Indian Ocean and game spotting, this architectural villa offers complete seclusion while catering to the highest degree of luxury, from a private chef and wellness treatments to beautifully appointed, fully equipped spaces.

Sleeping Arrangements

Esther sleeps up to 8 guests and offers 4 king-size bedrooms each with an en-suite and spectacular ocean views. Three of the bedrooms can be arranged as either 2 three-quarter beds or 1 emperor size bed, depending on the desired requirements.

What To Expect

There are rare luxuries around every corner, from exploring the game reserve by guided tour to afternoons on the private beach. This exclusive-use home comes fully staffed, with an open-plan kitchen and dining room, two lounges, a wine cellar, guest pantry and office. A central courtyard and patio, each with its own swimming pool, allows for easy alfresco relaxation.

The Art House Difference

Beyond the natural beauty of the estate’s fauna and flora, the most awe-inspiring element of Esther is the architectural character of the property, designed to imitate the land and boundless seascape, it holds the same organic forms. The estate’s turrets, reaching through and beyond the double-volume ceilings, invoke a surreal reflection of a termite mound, or a loosely-formed sandcastle. The 250 hectares of land surrounding the villa is a wildlife conservancy, teaming with zebra, giraffe, sable and antelope, as well as the smaller Cape Yellow mongoose, civet and genet.
